Footage of deep undersea volcanic vents informed drawings almost biblical in tone. Darwins 'warm little pond' origin of life theory in a narrative form, fierce and sublime.

Letters to Victor Jouet

A collector and French missionary, Victor Jouet began a small museum in the back of the Chiesa del Sacro Cuore del Suffragio on the banks of the Tiber. The Museum of Holy Souls in Purgatory holds a collection of singed objects including clothing and prayer books. The handprints and burn marks in the collection are believed to belong to souls in purgatory begging their living loved ones to pray harder for their freeing to heaven. The works in this series are drawn in charcoal from monstrous images of volcanic cloud.

Diamond Drawings

A series of coloured pencil and charcoal portraits of some of the worlds most famous and mysterious diamonds.

In the wake of the Christchurch earthquakes, the concept of the earth having some strange and dark forces developed into a fascination with all things geological.

Not just a study of light and transparency, the works resonate like religious icons, items of devotion.
